Hurricane Flood Relief

Second flood: Thursday, October 22, 2026 · Hurricane, Utah

Hurricane flooded again on Thursday, October 22. Water rushed down Gould Wash and into neighborhoods. The city declared a local emergency. People were told to leave their homes, including people at Willow Wind RV Park. Kindness in Motion is on the ground now, and we need your help.

Give to the Hurricane Flood Relief Fund

Your gift goes to Hurricane families hit by the floods. Funds go directly to meeting the needs of people who lost their homes or had to leave them.

You will receive a tax receipt. Kindness In Motion is a registered nonprofit.

What happened on October 22

Water came down Gould Wash and flooded homes and RVs. The city's first count is about 80 homes and about 50 RVs affected. The city is still checking, so these numbers may change.

This is the second flood in Hurricane since August.

Part 1: The August 14 flood

On Friday, August 14, a heavy monsoon rain overwhelmed the drainage and a flash flood tore through Hurricane. Homes filled with water and mud. Belongings that families spent a lifetime gathering were ruined in an afternoon. Many of the households hit hardest had no flood insurance, and some could not have bought it if they tried. They are still digging and they still need help!

Three ways people helped after the August flood

Any one of these makes a real difference. Pick whichever fits what you have to give.

1. Give to the relief fund

  • Every dollar goes straight to Hurricane families rebuilding after the flood. It is the fastest way to help, and it lets us buy exactly what is missing as needs change week to week. You get a tax receipt.

2. Drop off supplies

  • After the August flood, three places around Hurricane took donated goods: furniture, appliances, clothes, mattresses, food and building materials. For the October flood, please wait for details before bringing items.

3. Give your time or trade

  • Mud still has to come out of yards, and homes need cabinets hung, trim run and floors laid. If you swing a hammer, run a skid steer, or just have a free Saturday, we will put you to work.

Where August drop-off sites were

These three places took donated goods after the August flood. For the October flood, please wait for details before bringing items. We will post them here.
